Representatives of the Medicover Hospital, as guests of honour of The Polish-American Medical Society, visited Chicago and participated in events which are prestigious for the medical environment in the USA. This is another step towards a cooperation between Medicover and University of Chicago Medicine, which will allow to provide the patients with even higher level of medical care which will be better adjusted to their needs.
On the 5th March the director of the Medicover Hospital Ashley Livesey and a member of the Management Board John Stubbington met the representatives of the University of Chicago Medicine, toured around its campus and visited the Polish general consulate in Chicago. Next, on the 6th March, they participated in a prestigious charity ball, organized annually by The Polish-American Medical Society in Chicago (PAMS), which was connected with a celebration of the 70th anniversary of PAMS – the largest organization of this type in the world. The event gathered around 500 guests, including not only eminent doctors and representatives of medical facilities and organizations from Poland and the USA, but also politicians, including the governor of Illinois Bruce Rauner, a senator Mark Kirk, a congressman Bob Dold, and the ambassador of the Republic of Poland Ryszard Schnepf and the consul Robert Rusiecki. The event was not only an opportunity to collect means for charity, but also a possibility for networking and establishing significant relations.
– The invitation from The Polish-American Medical Society and the possibility to meet such a large circle of eminent doctors, scientists and other specialists is an honour for us, as well as another confirmation of the utmost quality of medical services provided by our Hospital, the high standard whereof is appreciated both in Poland and abroad – says Ashley Livesey, a Director of Medicover Hospital.
The achievements of members of the medical society gathered around The Polish-American Medical Society in Chicago were also honoured during the ball. Emilio Williams, a director of international programmes at University of Chicago Medicine, received one of special awards – this is how the chapter voiced the recognition of his involvement in a development of cooperation between the entity he represents and the Medicover Hospital. – For us, cooperation with University of Chicago Medicine is one of the most important plans for the future, therefore we are pleased that this idea was valued this way. We do believe that sharing knowledge and experience will allow both us and our partners to even better adjust the provided medical services and the process of treatment to the needs of the patients living outside their countries – says John Stubbington, a Member of the Management Board of Medicover.
